AS202418 is a small, non-commercial network run by a single operator. It exists to learn how the public internet actually works, by operating a real autonomous system rather than reading about one.
It began on dn42, the decentralised network where you run BGP over VPN tunnels with other enthusiasts. After roughly two years of building and breaking things there, the logical next step was to do it for real. The ASN and address space were registered in May 2018, and the network has been running ever since.
That meant transit, peerings at several exchanges in different locations, and learning why things fail. Everything here is built and maintained by hand, which is the point: the value is in understanding each part, not in the size of the network.

A note on names: FogIXP (AS47498) is the internet exchange, while iFog (AS34927) is a hosting and transit provider. They are separate organisations with confusingly similar names, and we use both.
Besides the route servers, we peer directly with Hurricane Electric (AS6939) at NL-IX (IPv4 and IPv6), SpeedIX (IPv6) and KleyRex (IPv4 and IPv6).
